Recipe: Banana and Honey Flapjacks

Today I thought I'd share with you a super easy recipe for the perfect healthy flapjacks. I bake these flapjacks all the time when I'm craving something sweet; and what I love most is the squidgy centres! So read on if you would like to know how to make these guilt free treats.

You will need

250g of rolled oats
50g butter
1 tbsp of maple syrup
2 tbsp of honey
2 mashed bananas
1 peeled and grated apple
3 chopped strawberries
100g raisons/mixed fruit
100ml of hot water

Step 1

Heat oven to 160C/140 Fan/Gas 3, Grease and line a small to medium square/rectangular tin with baking parchment.

Step 2

Heat the butter, maple syrup and honey in a small saucepan until melted. Then add the banana, apple, strawberries into the pan, along with 100ml of hot water. Mix this well until combined.

Step 3

Tip the rolled oats and mixed fruit into a large bowl. Pour in the combined mixture from the pan and stir until everything is combined and creates a wet mixture. Tip this mixture evening into your tin. Bake for 55 minutes until golden brown and then leave to cool in the tin.

Once cool, cut into 12 bite size pieces and enjoy with a lovely cup of tea.

As you can see this is a super easy recipe to follow and the flapjacks always turn out to be so scrummy! Even my dog, Bob wants in on the action. You can alter the recipe if you don't like some of the ingredients, try adding peanut butter or chopped apricots instead of the strawberries or mixed fruit.

(These flapjacks will keep for up to 3 days in an airtight container in the fridge!)

So what do you think, Are you tempted?
