Fuji Instax Mini 8: Thoughts

No doubt you have seen the Fuji Instax Mini scattered around Instagram and Tumblr, it's clear that it's a popular little gadget which has proven to become a special memory catcher. My boyfriend bought this for me for our anniversary and I couldn't have been happier, I have always loved the idea of them. They are so authentic and personal, plus I'm a huge fan of old fashioned polaroids.

My Instax is in a beautiful baby blue colour but you can get them in a range of colours: white, black, pink, blue & yellow. The camera is light weight, so it is ideal to carry around on days out and it has three simple steps to take the perfect photo. 1) Turn on the power 2) Adjust dial to the lit position 3) Press the shoot button and the photo will instantly develop. You really don't need to be a pro photographer to use the Instax, the camera even tells you which brightness is most suitable for the lighting you are in. The Hi-key mode gives you the option to make your photo seems softer, which is great because there's no way to turn off the flash! I like this though, unlike a modern camera phone and making everyone look like a ghost this camera almost always makes you look flaw free! Who's the real winner here?

One downside is that the Instax Mini is an expensive camera, try searching on Ebay and Amazon for a better deal at around £80. You can also find Fujifilm at around £14 on sites such as Amazon, so make sure to keep an eye out for the best deals. One thing's for sure it's definitely worth the money. This simple, creative and fun polaroid camera is the perfect way to capture instant memories in every situation and aspect of your life. I love taking it on weekends away, you have a limited amount of film so you are conscious about saving your film for the best moments of your trip - rather constantly snapping and ending up deleting most of them.

I cannot wait to use it in the summer and get some colourful shots and keep the best memories.

  1. I've been wanting to buy the Black version of this but the price has put me off, not the camera itself but constantly buying the film will tot up to be quite expensive but other than that I've feel in love with this camera without even having it!

  3. I have wanted one of these for ages and definitely in the baby blue it's the most gorgeous one (in my opinion) it's definitely pricey but I think it's worth it! I have an old polaroid camera and I am so fed up with it's chunkiness and impracticality to take around, I must take the plunge on payday to just fork out xxx
