In April I created an account for Oh January, and I'm bleddy excited about it. I'm very aware I'm kind of behind the times here, but I thought this post would be useful for beginners or those like me who are only just getting into Twitter. I feel like all this time before, I was a lonely writer, chattering on to myself and getting little feedback. And now this whole wave of joy has come from creating an account, and let me tell you why...
I created an account with little expectation, I just thought it would give me the chance to talk to a few people with similar interests and expose my blog a little. But the blogging community is so much more than that, it was wonderful to get chatting with other bloggers and find new blogs to read. Everyone is so supportive to one another and it is so refreshing to have that sort of community behind the blogging world.
Blogger chats and hashtags
One thing I love about Twitter is the use of blogger chats, it's a great way to find similar bloggers with the same interests and have a chance to hear their thoughts and tips. For example lifestyle blogger (#lbloggers) chats are 7pm every Wednesday - It's fab for exposing your account, your blog and gaining new friends.
One obvious point is that creating an account for your blog creates more ability for exposure, which is always great. Everyone should be proud of their posts and want to share them with as many people as possible and what better way to do it! You can connect your Twitter account with your Bloglovin' and when your most recent post uploads it will automatically share it on your Twitter - great right? Also you can get other devices such as Buffer, where you can schedule your tweets. I don't personally use this but that's another option to keep in mind. I post my links throughout the day for anyone interested to have a browse, many people do this and I love finding recent posts through tweets - it's especially good for bedtime reading!
What are your opinions of using Twitter alongside your blog?
