Travel: A Little London Break

Ahh London. Whenever I remember that I live a five hour drive away I instantly feel depressed. It's one of my favourite cities in the world and there's so much to see and explore. If I lived closer, I'd be catching the train in once a week for sure. Nevertheless escaping to my favourite place in England is always a pleasure and sometimes a road trip is just what you need.

The whole reason we went to London is because it was Jack's 23rd Birthday and we decided to book a few days before we set off to Sardinia for a wedding. We didn't get to London until around 6pm, so we settled in to our Air B&B then headed out for a late dinner at Pizza Express where I opted for a salad which looking back was ridiculous because let's face it I am the pizza queen! The following day was Jack's Birthday, we caught the tube to Shoreditch and browsed around Box Park. I really loved it despite so many people saying it's too mainstream now but I loved the feel of it and I adore the idea. We went to the top with all the food and had a delicious falafel pita (oh so mainstream!). It was such a chilled day and just what we needed, we stopped off at Covent Garden to have a ponder and oops I treated myself to a Bobbi Brown lippy (no regrets). We then headed to Greenwhich where we had the most amazing dinner at Wagas - Teppanyaki is the one guys. Our feet were still tired and we decided to go on the cable car which was so lovely and we got a pretty decent view of the city just as the sun was setting. All in all a very chilled and relaxing trip to London. I already cannot wait to go back and explore some more.

What's your favourite things to do in London?

  5. It sounds like you had a lovely time and this has really reminded me that I don't make the most of living in London! I need to get myself down to Boxpark and I'm really craving Wagamamas now. When you're next in London I really recommend you go visit Neal's Yard, which is tucked away from the hustle of the main bit of Covent Garden - it is the most colourful courtyard and Homeslice do the best pizza :) x

  8. I love London as well, but sadly I'm across the globe from it! Shamelessly one of my favourite things to do there (although super tourist'y) was to walk all along Oxford Street and literally just shop the day away.

  15. Reading this makes me feel like I take London for granted sometimes! My uni is in Shoreditch and I pass Boxpark daily, it has such lovely stores inside! Next time you visit you should definitely go to Portobello Road / Westbourne Grove on a Saturday, so many lovely stores and the market is just amazing!
