Sardinia was beautiful. My boyfriend's family friends were getting married and I felt so lucky to be a part of it and have the chance to spend ten days on a stunning island. For the first part of the trip we stayed in the capital of Sardinia, Cagliari; it was filled with old architecture and endless amounts of tram lines. And it was roasting. We stayed in the most sweetest little Air B&B, it was a converted stable with an open top second floor, it was cosy and right in the city centre. For the first few days we explored the little streets which had pretty cobbled floors, hanging lamps and cute little dogs roaming round. I don't know why but one thing I love is the look of washing hanging from windows, maybe because I can just imagine these little Italian women getting on with their day to day lives in these beautiful looking apartments, making tea and doing their washing and being the Italians they are. We found this amazing ice cream shop in the centre, I really wished I noted down the name to share with you! The majority of our days were spent on the beach which took about half an hour to get to by bus. The ones in Cagliari are pretty busy but it doesn't take long to find a spot. And the water is so clear and it's like taking a warm bath, literally heaven!
A few days into our trip we moved to another Air B&B located in Torre Delle Stelle, a beautiful scenic town with hills, nearby beaches and lots of character. It was a lot more relaxed here, so quiet and the house was spacious and had a lovely patio area and rooftop overlooking a beach. Most nights we ate at the house having bbqs, salads, pasta on the patio and now and again a cat would come a join us. Every morning we would do yoga on the rooftop, and then head down to the beach to soak up the sun. The wedding itself was such a beautiful day, it was a classic Italian wedding and we ate for five hours straight in the afternoon, yes five hours! In the evening, there was music and drinks by an outdoor pool and it was just such a great end to a perfect holiday.
Let me know what you have been up to in the comments :)
