We've all had those nights, usually on a Sunday, where we feel that dreaded knot in our stomach. When we know tomorrow is going to be one of those days where you just want to run back to bed. The night before is the tough part, it's the 'what if' stage and 'why can't I sleep' moments that make us go crazy most right?
But it's nothing a little TLC can't fix...
To do lists are your best friendLists instantly put your thoughts at ease, everything on your mind can be scribbled down on a post-it note giving you the chance to unclutter your mind for a little while. Write down everything you plan to do that night and everything you need to remember before you run out the door the next morning!
Pick your outfit and pack your bag
This can save a lot of trouble in the morning and there will be a lot less to come home to later the next day - floordrobes, man I hate that shit. Pick something that you are going to feel super comfortable in, yet confident. Packing your bag also saves you a lot of time and you won't have to worry about stressing that you have forgotten something vital!
Doing some light exercise the evening before a big day can help relieve stress, release endorphins while keeping you busy. Yoga With Adriene on YouTube is an amazing channel that is perfect for nights like this. There are so many yoga sessions to choose from and it is a great way to get your exercise of the day but also stretch and relieve all the tensions in that bod! If you're not into yoga, a simple walk can be the perfect way to unwind too.
As you probably know, colouring books have been hitting every shop going and they're hard not to miss due to being splattered all across social media and blog posts - oh hi! I can't complain though as they are a perfect way to escape and they're so therapeutic. I really need to get back into mine, but one thing I have come to realise is, I cannot colour very well at all...
Herbal tea is the one. Honestly, if you haven't tried Clipper's Sleep Easy tea then you are missing out. What's great is that their bags are unbleached, totally organic and caffeine free. Oh, and the tea is seriously delicious, with a blend of cinnamon (yum), chamomile, valerian and natural orange flavouring. It's probably my favourite tea at the moment and you really do feel ready for bed straight after. It's the perfect way to have a little inside hug just after you've climbed in your PJs.
A light meal
Don't go heavy and mad with dominoes before a busy day. I get you stressed = pizza - always, but just try to resist the urge! Feeling bloated and going to bed struggling to sleep is not the best idea before a busy day - even if it seems that at the time! A pasta salad, jacket potato, eggs or something packed with veggies is always a must - get yo vitamins in ya.
Take a bath
Indulge with a hot, bubbly, lush filled bath to relax those tense muscles and maybe have a nap - because everyone loves a nap. I was recently given Lush's Frozen bath bomb (featured in the top photo - isn't it adorbs?). I won this magical bomb on Jayd's giveaway (make sure to check out her blog Always Alice, I love love it!) and you can read all about it in my previous post here; spoiler - you look like a sparkling princess. What I'm trying to say is, treating yourself to a lovely soak with candles to accompany you should make you more than happy to jump into your marshmallow bed - if your bed doesn't feel like marshmallows, sort that out pronto.
Speak to someoneA quick phone call to your go-to person can be all you need to make all your worries disappear. Talking to someone and getting all your thoughts off your chest will get you more than ready for hitting the hay.
Marshmallow time and no distractions
Bed. Oh bed. Yep, it's an obvious one - much like the others really. Getting into bed at a good time, with your alarm all set, with no distractions (we're talking Instagram) is essential for making sure you are good to go the next morning. Your bags packed, outfits sorted and you are feeling just wonderful - you can do this.
