Chilly Beach Days

I just love heading down to the beach during these chilly months. Beaches are the best when they're bare, with a couple of people scattered across the sand, linking arms and hats hugging their heads. Watching dogs has to be one of my favourite pastimes, they run crazily when they have the beach all to themselves, running in circles and dipping their paws in the sea!

Before the beach we went into town, heaving with people who were clearly struggling with five bags full of christmas goodies in each hand. We grabbed a festive coffee and then escaped to the sea. We took photos, walked, talked and admired the view. The beach is one of my favourite places to take photos and it was no surprise I was snapping away. Anyone must of thought we were doing a photo shoot and my sister was the windswept model! Of course there were a few cheeky shots of me too. I'm wearing my insanely thick Zara jumper I bought last month and it's been keeping me nice and toasty - I'm currently rocking it as I type, clearly cannot get enough. I was also wearing my favourite Topshop scarf I picked up last year, it's so cosy and I'm still so in love with the design. Also, how lovely is my Pandora ring? Jack bought it for me last month and it hasn't left my hand since.

What have you guys been up to?

  2. Nice post. It's always nice to kick back by the beach. I haven't done any Christmas shopping what so ever and I'm not even worried.

  9. What a lovely post! I actually love going to the beach in autumn - it has some special allure to it that it doesn't have in the summer. Lovely photos as well!

  10. I love this post! I relate to it so much. I grew up in Hawaii, so I never had chilly, empty beaches. However, I went to university in Oregon and their beaches looked very similar to the ones in your photos! Bare beaches are really relaxing!

  11. That Pandora ring is really lovely! I love going to the beach when it's empty, winter time is obviously the best for that but it's summer here so our beaches are pretty packed!

  16. Couldn't agree with you more! That's my favourite thing about living on the coast, that the beach is a stones throw away (I'll stop with the puns). Cannot beat it in the rugged weather - sure, I may not be able to feel my face, but it's brilliant.

  18. You look so warm and cozy! I love the beach in the winter. There's something about how quiet it is, compared to the usual summer bustle, that is so inviting and memorable.
