Newcastle: Photo Diary

Last week I travelled to the Toon. It was so nice to just get away and have a change of scenery. My friend, Jade and I travelled from Cornwall, took a plane and a train and finally made it to Jen's in Newcastle. I've never been further up north than London before, I'm a proper Southern girl but I was looking forward to find out what the North had in store for me. It was certainly chilly, that's for sure (Jen's electric blanket was my best mate).

I wasn't expecting Newcastle to be so pretty, Jen lives in Jesmond which is filled with stunning Victorian houses. This is really close to the city centre too, which was only a few stops away on the metro. We shopped at Eldon Square Shopping Centre, walked, talked and trained our way around Newcastle, loving every second.

We went to a comedy club at The Stand, watched people fail and others make us pee. We stumbled across the perfect spot to admire the Tyne Bridge, had Starbucks flavours which were non-existent in Cornwall (we're talking rose and pistachio). And we took a day trip to beautiful Edinburgh - stay tuned for another travel diary very soon!

The visit continued, we drank flavoured teas at Quillium Brothers, strolled around Quayside and questioned art in Baltic. We even took a visit to a cat cafe - Catpawchino and it was something special - look how cute they are!

On our last morning in The Toon, we ate pancakes, said our farewells and made our long journey back to farmland.

Until next time, pet.

  13. Yay glad you liked Newcastle! I saw that same exhibition at the Baltic, Its actually one of my favourites that I've seen there.
You should come back in the summer, there's the boiler shop steamer and tynemouth market. so much more for you to see!

  14. Being from Newcastle myself I get this strange self of pride when someone visits and loves it as much as I do. I don't feel like you appreciate the place you're from properly! Sounds like you had a lush time.

    1. I'm exactly the same with where I live. Sometimes it's great to be a tourist in your own country!
