Don't expect girly lipsticks, rosy blushers or expensive mascaras in this beauty post. We're talking basics.
Today I'm sharing an average basic Boots visit, because I don't think we share these enough. It may not be all that exciting but it's always good to have a little insight in those affordable staple pieces which we need to reach for on a regular basis.
I always find myself in need of hair products, cotton wool pads and a trusty eyebrow pencil.
Soap and Glory products are so underrated, and after finding Archery brow pencil over a year ago now - I haven't looked back... Unless you can tell me a better alternative, please, go ahead!
Hair products are something I like to experiment with and I usually like to try out different brands. This time around I opted for Aussie as I haven't used it in forever, and these bottles were HEFTY. I'm totally sorted for a good few weeks!
If you don't have a little browse of the perfume counter then who are you? I recently went in with my sister as we were on the hunt for her Birthday present, I thought Marc Jacobs Honey would suit her perfectly and she loved it but now I'm a little jealous...
So, let's gain a little insight into the basics I picked up this time around:
I'm really digging this heart protecting spray. I've been ultra slack with caring for my hair at the moment, it's got to that stage where my fringe is stuck to my eyelids and my split ends are endless. It's time for a haircut, but I absolutely hate sitting in that chair and making small talk to a stranger. Ya get me?
This eyeliner is one I always run back to. I like to go for the thick eyeliner look with the classic cat eye and this is perfect for that very look. It may be worth a try if you're on the search for a goodun'.
I'm yet to find a better eyebrow pencil than this. Brownie Points is the shade I reach for and it seems to be the perfect match, the only issue I have with this is it runs out so fast! Meaning it's something I always have to repurchase everytime I visit Boots.
Now this is basic but a complete necessity. Talking of necessities, who's seen the new Jungle Book? It's the best thing I've seen in SO long - how on earth did they create such a magical film?
Who knows how many lip balms I have piled up in my drawers but I wanted to try the sugar coated Vaseline and it hasn't disappointed. It created a lovely rosy tint to the lips and it's a must have to throw into your handbag.
I was really looking forward to trying Aussie again, but I was disappointed with the shampoo. Firstly, it doesn't have the classic Aussie scent and it made my hair squeaky... SQUEAKY. I'm definitely not into that, and certainly didn't feel like a Herbal Essences waterfall woman. I'm so annoyed that I purchased the 'Mega' bottle which is basically the same size as my head but we live and learn.
This product on the other hand was a winner. It has the classic Aussie scent, and made my hair feel a lot softer than usual. It's designed to restore your frizzled hair after those holidays bathing in the sun and sea - but to be honest, my hair always looks like this and overall I'm glad I picked the beauty up.
What kind of products do you always reach for during your beauty pickup?
