Pinterest Style Board: Dreaming Of Summer And Letting Go

I've been pinning like crazy lately, whether I'm hunting down beautiful photos of Greece or wondering if I could pull off a pair of dungarees - it certainly passes the time, and it's got me wondering...

Summer is nearly here, which means for many of us, new clothes are on the horizon and you detest every item in your wardrobe.

At this moment, I'm sure I will have a sort out of my clothes, bag them up and say goodbye and welcome new additions into my wardrobe. But this is seriously tough, am I right? It takes a lot of work to wave off something you bought with your hard-earned money.

I always get reminded of the time I was getting into eBay. It seemed great in the beginning but not one item of clothing was being sold.

My patience was wearing thin, so I put my Topshop skater skirt back on and started the bid at £1. Before I knew it, no one had touched it and it got swooped away for that exact £1.

My heart broke a little inside.

Since then, I have found it incredibly hard to get rid of clothes. It doesn't matter what it is.

Even those pieces like that white tee you bought which is now pink from being mixed with colours. It currently sits with your pjs because you simply cannot frickin' let it go. WHY?

Please someone tell me I'm not alone.

Anyway, I seem to have gone a teeny bit off tangent - so let's dive into my 'style' Pinterest board and get inspired for summer.

Hannah x

  1. Don't worry! You are not alone! For some reason, I have an old PJ top that doesn't fit anymore, stuffed away in the back of my closet just because it has a fluffy polar bear on it and I can't bear to throw it away!
    Great inspiration picks! :D

  5. Getting rid of clothes is one of the things I find SO hard as well! I try to do a regular clear out, but I do end up keeping more than I probably need. I keep a lot of stuff for photoshoots, but they tend to live in the loft! x

  6. OH I am Pinterest mad too! Can't get enough of it. I love it for EVERYTHING parties, clothes, hair, style, new season, wedding-dreaming, house-dreaming, boyfriend-dreaming. In love with it. I will find you and give you a follow, might nab a few of your fancy pins Hope you don't mind! The Blonde B

  7. Cannot resist a bit of Pinterest! I totally get you though, some clothes are so hard to part with! If I haven't worn something in a year I usually think about getting rid of it, but if I can't bear to for sentimental value/the item is too unique I put it in a box at the top of my cupboard. Trends have a habit of reappearing years down the line so it's always nice to hold onto things!

  8. Thanks for the comment on my blog Hannah. You definitely have a new follower on Pinterest, loving the style :) Also, I completely agree, I end up hoarding clothes either because of the memories or because I make myself think that i'll that use it one day! Although are you like me where you save your nice clothes for 'nicer days'. Like oh no I won't wear that nice new shirt today because I'm only going food shopping and then you only actually wear it a few times?

lots of love, Jane | Marble and Rose
