Waves With Irresistible Me | Review

Thick hair syndrome strikes again.

The Ruby Curling Iron

The first thing I noticed about the curling iron was how light it is. It's super easy to handle and the design is simplistic. The Ruby curling iron has a rotating barrel with an auto recovery function making it a dream to use, you could literally do the whole thing with just one hand. The barrel is ceramic, and the irons get seriously hot. According to Irresistible Me the negative ions in the wand eliminates frizz and locks in moisture by closing the cuticle to create smooth shiny hair.

The iron comes in a beautiful boxed packaging which is super easy to store. Unfortunately it's fit with an American plug so you'll need an adapter. Luckily for me, my dad was on hand like the DIY whizz he is and fitted me a brand new plug!

My experience

Having thick hair can be a nightmare, it's often hard to find hair products which work and unfortunately this is another hair tool that doesn't quite cut the mustard.

I was gifted this curling wand a few months ago, and after testing it out it on several occasions I wasn't having any luck. It's very hit a miss, sometimes it can work like a charm and on further tries it results in limp waves - as pictured above. No matter how long I sit there, more often then not my hair seems untouchable.

But guess what? My sister tried it out for herself and the curls were insane... why was my hair not cooperating?

The verdict?

If you have thin hair then this could be amazing for you.

I guess it's just one of those products you have to try for yourself. Although if you have thick hair like me and often find curls falling out the moment you leave the house, it's probably best to avoid popping this into your basket.

If you have any amazing products I should know about, perfect for thick hair - please tell me in the comments!

  6. I love the look of softly curled hair for ladies rockin a bob or lob. My hair is too long to make this look work, so I tend to go for traditional curls, but this post really makes me want to grow out my bangs and cut my hair!

  8. I have super thick hair, too, so this sounds very familiar! My curls look great for an hour or so but they always drop eventually. Try straighteners instead, and use hairspray before and after - that might work out :)

  10. I have a set of extensions from Irrestible Me and they're amazing, so I'm definitely eager to try more from the brand! My hair isn't too thick, so this curler would probably work quite well, but what a shame it isn't so great with thicker hair!
