A Dreamy Cornish Garden Cafe On A Weekend Afternoon

A friend recommended we head to Potager Garden & Cafe on Saturday afternoon and it was such a lovely couple of hours. It was one of those places where you just wanted to capture everything around you; plants, greenhouses, people with dogs and hammocks hanging from trees - not to mention that ping pong table! It's located just outside of Falmouth in Cornwall, in a little place called Constantine and we decided to head down after a sleepy morning.

Walking up the path, we were surrounded by beautifully arranged gardens where we could see the cafe through the trees. We headed for the converted greenhouse; cacti and succulents sat in pots with price tags dangling from them, families were enjoying food on eclectic furniture and little coffee cups were placed in front of us ready for freshly brewed coffee - the whole atmosphere was so chilled and super relaxing for a weekend afternoon. The cafe serves organic and homemade vegetarian dishes and I went for the mezze which was delicious. After lunch we continued to explore and enjoyed a game of table tennis surrounded by beautiful plants and then lay in the sun on some deck chairs, before heading off for a stroll around Falmouth.

Who'd have known this was once an overgrown nursery which has now transformed into a little slice of heaven - such a hidden gem! If you're ever in Cornwall, I'd definitely recommend giving Potager a visit - the perfect retreat for a chilled lunch and lazing in the sun.
